  Dr. Susan Truesdell, DVM
Dr. Susan Truesdell received her DVM from Washington State University in 1977.
Dr. Susan Truesdell

Dr. Susan Truesdell started Aztec Animal Clinic in 1990. She has a special interest in feline medicine and practice management.

Dr. Truesdell's two children are both grown and married. When not at the clinic, she enjoys hitting the road on weekends with her husband, Keith, to visit the grandchildren. Waiting for them when they get home is their yellow Lab, Isabelle "Izzy", and two Abyssinian cats.

  Dr. Barbara McGuire, DVM
Dr. Barbara McGuire received her DVM from Colorado State University in 1984.
Dr. Barbara McGuire

Dr. Barbara McGuire grew up in rural northern Colorado, surrounded by horses, lambs, chickens, and calves. At the tender age of 10, she repaired a hen's broken leg with popsicle sticks and decided that helping injured animals was her mission in life. Since then, she has developed a special interest in critical care and geriatric medicine, and is fond of saying that "old age is not a disease."

Dr. McGuire moved to New Mexico in 1989 and joined Aztec Animal Clinic in 1993. She shares her life with her husband Paul, Emma the Lab, Jade the Border Collie and two cats, Rosie and Tito. Her daughters, Brenna and Lauren, are both off to college, but home for the holidays and summers. When not at the clinic, Dr. McGuire can usually be found running in Ridgecrest or cycling in the mountains with Paul.

  Dr. Carolyn Fletcher, DVM
Dr. Carolyn Fletcher received her DVM from Tufts University in 1998.

Dr. Carolyn Fletcher, a graduate of Tufts University in Boston, is originally from the New England area. Along with her husband, Dr. Fletcher also brought her menagerie of critters, which include cats, dogs, and two ringneck doves.

Dr. Fletcher has a special interest in working with all types of exotics, which was sparked while she worked as a zookeeper at Zoo New England (formerly Franklin Park Zoo). She and her husband were drawn to the natural beauty of New Mexico and are looking forward to experiencing all of its culture, art, and wonderful weather.
