Dr. Ann-Marie Sekerak headed out West after graduating veterinary school leaving behind the cold and humidity of her childhood in Chicago. Always a lover of animals, Dr. Sekerak decided to become a veterinarian after working as a veterinary assistant during undergrad at the University of Michigan -- Go Blue! Before joining the Aztec team, Dr. Sekerak practiced small animal medicine in Colorado Springs. Her special veterinary interests include client education, ultrasound, internal medicine, and a budding interest in canine rehabilitation. The most rewarding part of the job for Dr. Sekerak is truly making a difference in the lives of both her clients and the pets they love.
Dr. Sekerak has made her home in Albuquerque with her adventurous and supportive husband Mike, hiking buddy Hildy -- a very cute Corgi-Sheltie mix, and Mitch the rabbit! On days off Dr. Sekerak fills her time with hiking (last summer completing the Barr Trail -- 25 miles round trip to the top and bottom of Pikes Peak), skiing, reading, home repair, and exploring New Mexico.
