Hope, Registered Veterinary Technician/Receptionist

Hope graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at CNM with an Associates degree in Applied Science. Hope also has a Masters in Education and retired from APS after 30 years of teaching. Although Hope is an RVT, she currently works as a receptionist. She keeps busy with her Dachshund and her Dorkie (dachshund/yorkie cross) Gemini and Pepper. She enjoys reading, walking, and gardening. Hope has been caring for pets at Aztec since June 2007.

Cathy, Registered Veterinary Technician

Cathy graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the College of Southern Idaho with an Associates degree in Applied Science. She also has a Bachelors degree in Animal Science from NMSU. Cathy currently does not have any four-legged friends of her own, but looks forward to having them in the future. She spends her free time hiking, biking, camping, and watching the NFL and PBR. Cathy has been caring for pets at Aztec since May 2006.

Ellen, Registered Veterinary Technician

Ellen graduated in 1986 from the Veterinary Technician program in Texas. She has an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Ellen's four-legged companions include 3 Welsh Corgis, 2 turtles, and 5 ducks. She enjoys gardening, reading, and doing herding and obedience with her dogs. Ellen has been caring for pets at Aztec off and on for several years, but joined us permanently in June 2007.

Kim, Technician

Kim is a technician who has over 10 years of experience in the veterinary field. She received all her training while working in animal hospitals including a pet store. Kim has a menagerie of pets, which include dogs, cats, llamas, chickens, a horse, a cockatoo, and even bearded dragons. When Kim is not working or playing with her pets, she enjoys skiing, camping, home improvement, gardening and horse back riding. She has also written a children's book. Kim has been caring for pets at Aztec since February 2004.

Amanda, Technician

Amanda is a technician who has over 12 years of experience. She received her training on the job at several local animal hospitals. Amanda is currently attending CNM and is majoring in biology and criminology. Her four-legged friends include 3 cats and her dogs, Skylar and Norma Jean. In Amanda's free time she enjoys doing home improvement projects around her house. She has been caring for pets at Aztec since July 2002.

Laura, Technician

Laura is a technician who is currently attending UNM. She will be graduating in December with a degree in Biology. Laura has worked as a technician for several years and got all her training "on the job". She has several pets of her own which, include dogs, cats, turtles, chickens, geese, a rabbit, and a bunch of fish. Laura enjoys roller derby, soccer, and gardening (when she has the time). Laura has been caring for pets at Aztec since August 2007.

Diego, Technician Assistant

Diego is a graduate of El Dorado High School and is currently a student at UNM. He is majoring in Biology (with intentions of going on to vet school) with a minor in Business. Diego got his start in the veterinary world working in a pet boarding facility. He has 3 pets of his own, Bumble, Bear, and his newest addition, a ferret named Marley. When he's not at school or here at work, Diego enjoys hiking, rock climbing, swimming, listening to music or hanging out with friends. Diego has been caring for pets at Aztec since June 2008.
