April, Registered Veterinary Technician

April graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at CNM with an Associates degree in Applied Science. Before joining the veterinary field, April worked as a Lab technician for over 10 years. She has 2 dogs and a parrot named Scooter. April enjoys hanging out with her family and volunteering at her church where she teaches young kids. She has been caring for pets at Aztec since April 2007.

Hope, Registered Veterinary Technician/Receptionist

Hope graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at CNM with an Associates degree in Applied Science. Hope also has a Masters in Education and retired from APS after 30 years of teaching. Although Hope is an RVT, she currently works as a receptionist. She keeps busy with her Dachshund and her Dorkie (dachshund/yorkie cross) Gemini and Pepper. She enjoys reading, walking, and gardening. Hope has been caring for pets at Aztec since June 2007.

Cathy, Registered Veterinary Technician

Cathy graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the College of Southern Idaho with an Associates degree in Applied Science. She also has a Bachelors degree in Animal Science from NMSU. Cathy currently does not have any four-legged friends of her own, but looks forward to having them in the future. She spends her free time hiking, biking, camping, and watching the NFL and PBR. Cathy has been caring for pets at Aztec since May 2006.

Ellen, Registered Veterinary Technician

Ellen graduated in 1986 from the Veterinary Technician program in Texas. She has an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Ellen's four-legged companions include 3 Welsh Corgis, 2 turtles, and 5 ducks. She enjoys gardening, reading, and doing herding and obedience with her dogs. Ellen has been caring for pets at Aztec off and on for several years, but joined us permanently in June 2007.

Daniel, Registered Veterinary Technician

Daniel graduated from CNM with an Associate's degree in Applied Science. He hails all the way from the beautiful island of St. Croix. Daniel has several pets, including 2 dogs, Ruca and Kourry, and 2 cats, Murphy Lee and Matilda Squeeks. He enjoys taking his dogs on adventures in the New Mexican wilderness, working on home improvements with his partner, and most of all enjoying life! Daniel has been caring for pets at Aztec since February 2010.

Diego, Technician Assistant

Diego is a graduate of El Dorado High School and is currently a student at UNM. He is majoring in Biology (with intentions of going on to vet school) with a minor in Business. Diego got his start in the veterinary world working in a pet boarding facility. He has 3 pets of his own, Bumble, Bear, and his newest addition, a ferret named Marley. When he's not at school or here at work, Diego enjoys hiking, rock climbing, swimming, listening to music or hanging out with friends. Diego has been caring for pets at Aztec since June 2008.

Mary, Technician Assistant

Mary is a technician assistant currently studying to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She studied Environmental Health at Bowling Green State University and worked with the Dept of Health with investigations of animal hoarding. Mary has one exuberant Lab/Boxer mix named Deacon whom she loves to take hiking! She also enjoys skiing and hits the ski slopes as much as possible. Mary has been caring for pets at Aztec since August 2009.
